• Guatemala '08 An enthusiastic group of 65 people from MHCC traveled to Guatemala to help Potter's House minister to people living in the Guatemala Garbage Dump. We helped build four houses, conduct a vacation Bible camp, run baseball and soccer clinics, and offered medical assistance. One week, Aug. 2-9, 2008. Click on the link to see everyone's photos on our flickr.com page. And some more excellent pics at John Marc's photos. |
• Guatemala House Build 1/08 Seven people (5 men, 2 women) from MHCC traveled to Guatemala to help Potter's House minister to people living in the Guatemala Garbage Dump. Our mission was to build one complete, finished concrete block house, which, in fact, we did. One of our members also wrote and designed the Potter's House Annual Report. One week, Jan. 27 to Feb. 2, 2008. |
• Katrina Rebuilding '07 Nine people from MHCC traveled to Waveland, Mississippi to the Christian Life Center to help with the continuing repairing and rebuilding of homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina in August 2005. The was one of the worst disasters in U.S. history and it will be at least another 7 to 10 years before life returns to normal on the Gulf Coast. On this one-week trip (Dec. 2-8, 2007), we repaired, spackled, sanded, and painted the mayor's home. |
• Guatemala '06 36 people joined Potter's House in helping the 10,500 people who live in and around the Guatemala City Garbage Dump. We built three concrete block houses, poured seven concrete floors, conducted a baseball clinic for 35 boys and had a game, and ran a "vacation Bible school" for 90 youngsters. And on a prayer walk, we met with 40 families in one of the dump communities. Aug. 5-12, 2006. |
• Guatemala '05 26 people traveled to work with Potter's House in helping the 10,500 people who live in and around the Guatemala City Garbage Dump. We installed drainage pipes and sinks, and mixed and poured concrete foundations for tiny 10' x 20' sheet-metal homes, painted a huge 100' x 30' x 3-story hall, and shared our faith with 33 families. Aug. 3-7, 2005. |
• Taiwan FUEL... transforming students at Mendham Hills Chapel... and in Taiwan! July 14-26, 10 students and 4 adults from FUEL youth ministry had the opportunity to travel to Ximen Ding Square in Taipei, Taiwan. The students got to experience firsthand the intentionality of building relationships and connecting with students ages 16-25 with the purpose of sharing their faith stories. By God's grace and the power of the Holy Spirit, an area that was once in darkness is now being filled with light as 13 of our new friends came to a saving knowledge of Christ. |
